Yamaha TZ 250/350 sprockets

Many times people wonder about all the different part numbers for sprockets for the TD and TZ models over the years.

Most people do know how to calculate the gearing and/or roadspeed, but here is a handy table to start with before choosing the correct sprockets.

P.S. N/Gr is the max rpm of the wheel with these sprockets, Tyre=S is the circumference of the tyre and M/min is metres per minute, etc. You can copy this easily in an Excel file and see how fast you go! (or try to go...)

Example: TZ350G-3G3 Nr. of teeth/dimensions Calculation
1 Primary gear 25
2 Clutch 74
3 Primary ratio 2,96 r2/r1
4 6th gear-in 22
5 6th gear-out 27
6 Topgear ratio 0,81 r4/r5
7 Drive sprocket 16
8 Driven sprocket 35
9 Sprocket ratio 2,19 r8/r7
10 Total ratio 5,28 r3xr6xr9
11 N/Gr 1990 10.500/r10
12 Tyre=S 1,975
13 M/min 3931 r11*r12
V-Max 235,8 r13*60/100
