Yamaha models like YD2, YD3, YDT1 and smaller models in the early 1960's used this nicely made "sliding throttle".

A Yamaha International Corp. Service News of July 9th, 1964, even required the Yamaha dealers to check carefully the equal fuel supply to the carburetors of the twin cylinder models.

In the very early days many mistakes were made in the Service manuals for the motorcycles. A major one was incorrect information for the gearbox oil.

Between 1987-1990 Yamaha Motor Europe initiated a race class for the TZR250. A kit was offered to the riders which consisted of some specially made parts and parts that came straight from the TZ250 production racer.
