My German friend found this picture from an early Yamaha publication!

As you can see on the left hand crankcase cover, this drag racing machine was equipped with a TD1B (YDS3 based) engine. Very probably an early 1965 TD1B, as the exhausts are the normal chrome plated ones. Later on these exhausts were dull plated (not polished) and again later they were only painted silver (as for the TD1C). The bike was nicely transported in a Chevy "El Camino". Those were the days.....!
