Yamaha electrical connections

Lately several people have asked about which parts I use for the repair of the electrical system.

Even Yamaha dealers are not always aware that you can simply purchase the connectors used by Yamaha since the very early years.

You need just 3 parts; the "male" connector 90890-05159-00, the female connector 90890-05160-00 and the plastic shroud 90890-05314-00.

The Yamaha part names are terminal b-1; terminal b-2 and sleeve, insulation.

Please note that the terminals have to be ordered 10 each (10 pcs in a bag) and the insulation sleeve is ordered by 1 (1 set contains around 50 pcs). Check the local cost please!

I paid (Euro) 3,70 for 10 terminals and 11,94 for 1 bag of sleeves (Netherlands, 2009)

Soldering the new terminals to the wires takes just a little patience. For the male terminals I always add a small piece of shrink tubing (blue/white + pink wire). After you make the connection between the female and male terminals you can slide the insulation sleeve over it.
