Yamaha RA41 125 cc

Yamaha RA41, 1961 The first 125 ccm G.P. racer.

The RA41 was the first G.P. 125 ccm racer Yamaha built. With a bore x stroke of 56 x 50 mm the engine turned out 20 PS, weight of the machine was 85 kg.

The single cylinder engine had 2 rotary valves and carburetors, on each side of the engine. This bike was quickly followed by the RA55 and RA75.

So when Yamaha racing started with the production YA1 back in 1955, 6 years later the real racing on G.P. level could commence.
