Giacomo Agostini, Yamaha Factory rider, part 2

Next to the old brown pictures I discovered some weeks ago, during Easter 2008 I found 5 never used color slides from Giacomo Agostini's first Yamaha 0W20 test in Japan in early 1974.

There is no story as you can imagine. Let these old pictures just sink into your memory and imagine what happened nearly 35 years ago. Giacomo Agostini came to Yamaha to start a complete new adventure.

Japan and everything connected to that was new to him. But I remember that he immediately got on very well with Yamaha engineers, like Hata-San and Naitoh-San here on the pictures and with all the other engineers and mechanics. This was surely helped by the fact that Giacomo Agostini always was (and is) a very analytical rider, so boundaries hardly exist.

Here is Giacomo with Naitoh-San. Naitoh-San later-on became Technical Director for Yamaha Amsterdam and even later for Yamaha Spain. Sadly he, and also Hata-San have passed away already. They were two of the men who definitively made Yamaha Goooo....!! in those challenging years.
