The MF1 was Yamaha's answer to the rapidly growing Moped Market. Yamaha wanted to have a sportier design (like with the SC1 scooter) Front and rear suspension were made by a clever rubber torsion spring and rubber coil spring. The bike had a 3.5 hp electric start engine with a 3-speed gearbox. Length was 1685 mm, wheelbase 1130 mm and weight was 67 kg.
