Welcome to Yamaha Classic Motorcycles

Welcome to 'www.classicyams.com', the site dedicated to all classic YAMAHA racers and historic YAMAHA street/off-road bikes. This site is dedicated to the famous 2-strokes but the equally famous 4-strokes are also not forgotten!

Sitedesign is by Remko Visser, my successor at Yamaha Motor Europe, as a present when I retired from the company that touched my heart! You can view most pictures in large formate, just "click" them. Ludy Beumer

I have a rare Yamaha MF1 I need the legshields and taillightlens. The MF1 was only sold in Japan, the Far East and a few in the USA. I have found a MF2 legshield (has to be modified) and an original MF2 silencer (but that is too small....!) Who has better parts for me ?????

Week 49: A complete 24 pages Yamaha Special Tool booklet from 1968 which you can print !! Al Nesbitt has a very nice RD350/TZ 1974 machine for sale. In Yamaha Motorcycle design the RD125 series and the early 250/350 sports models are covered (YDS2>>>>R1)

Week 48: Rob Pemberton from England won a Stafford Show Award with his fantastic Yamaha TX750. Read this nice story from Dante d'Ambruoso about his friend Kenny Roberts (KR, nr. 1#) Johny Cecotto's World Championship winning Yamaha 0W31 is a spectacular motorcycle! More large Valentino Rossi pictures made in Assen 2008.

Week 47: In Yamaha's motorcycle design 2 pages about the small twins, the AT90 and the AS1 and their derivates.

Week 46: Coming up now are beautiful pictures of all the YCRT bikes. First one here is the 0W15 125 cc machine. Bill Ivy is being taped-up! We have found a good Fumio Ito picture on his 1960 BMW season, here during the Dutch TT. US rider Sonny Angel was the first Yamaha rider at the T.T. IOM races.

Week 45: I found a very useful Yamaha US 1969 model code and framenumberlist, it covers the US models from 1962-1977! Next to the YR1, I added brochures from the YR2C, R3 and R3C models, the big Yamaha's. Another picture (MCN 1967) of a "race" YL1. All YR1-2/C-3/C pictures complete! The 1972 AS3 kit parts list from the "Het Motorpaleis" catalogue.

Week 44: Jeff, one of our US readers, found a very nice 1971 Yamaha G6SB, nearly identical with the bike on the brochure G5-S, also brochure of the YG5-T. A story about Bob Anderson, the most "mystic" Yamaha factory rider. More news already about Bob Anderson and a stunning picture! How to calculate your roadspeed and which sprockets should you use on TD/TZ's???

Week 43: Sorry guys, I was very busy last week with "things", no time! I have now a fantastic story about the development of the Yamaha Production Racer, the TD1, written by Richard Tracey from the U.K.
