Not a restoration question... 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago  
Reading about the Ito bike made me wonder whatever became of Fumio Ito? I had read somewhere that after receiving a head injury, he disappeared to the U.S and was never heard from again...I'm surprised that he wasn't tracked-down for Yamaha's 50th, being Yamaha's first "star".

Dear Jeremy,
You are absolutely right. Fumio Ito was the man who put Yamaha in the picture. Problem is, like with many companies, all those old "soldiers" who knew about that, have long since retired or passed-away. But I have asked an old retired Yamaha friend in Japan and he promised me to try to find out what happened to Fumio Ito. But if something materializes I will write an article about it. Keep posted!
