Yamaha TX750 in Norway

Hello, Flying TX-Club Members!

Here`s a quick report from Norway, Tore Andersen and his U.S. TX 750.

I have been using my TX 750 frequently this season.

I am getting to know it quite well by now.

My impression of this model so far, is that it handles quite well for its time.

I find the front fork absolutely perfect.

Far better than any 70`s bike I have ridden.

How on earth do you find such a beautiful bike, like Tore Andersen did in the USA.

The rear end is not up to the front, but I will change the rear shockers for some new ones with the right look, and this will probably sort things out.

The engine is beautiful and does exactly what I want.

It pulls strongly from low revs, and revs happily towards the redline without any hesitation, and with almost no vibration.

The sound and feel of the engine is definitely close to the British twins, but with far less vibrations and much less mechanical noise.

I am very happy with my TX, and I would like to thank you guys for convincing me that the TX was the bike to go for. (Tore corresponded quite a lot with the Dutch TX750 Club before deciding to purchase one!)

(Tore Answeaon is on the extreme left, he cannot get away from his bike as you can see!)

I am going to fix some minor things on the bike during the coming winter:

Replace the cylinder head gasket, due to an oil leak in the front, at the tunnel for the cam chain

Replace an oil seal at the gear change shaft, due to a small oil leak here as well.

Put on a deep sump that I bought from Jurjen.

Give it a normal engine service, as it has never had a service, I think, due to it`s very low mileage (9500 km)

Quite remarkable, considering that the bike is 36 years old...

The original workshop manual and the original toolset also where with the bike.

I send you a couple of pictures taken this summer, and keep in mind that this is not a restored bike...
