We just concluded the MotoGP round here in the U.S. at Laguna Seca and thought you would enjoy a few images.

The event is sponsored by Yamaha Motor USA and there were quite a few activities.

In addition to the races, Yamaha hosts a group of its riders from the past, including myself, in what is called the Yamaha Weekend of Champions.

There were about half from roadracing and half from motocross.

Others of note were Giacomo Agostini, Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson, Pierre Karsmakers, Scott Russell, Steve Baker and Randy Mamola.

There was a special reception during the weekend for Rainey who was inducted as a "Legend of Laguna Seca."

The only previous inductee was race car driver Dan Gurney.

Yamaha hosts a gala industry party at the famed Monterey Aquarium with something like 1,000 guests in attendance!

The highlight is the introduction on stage of not only former Yamaha racers, but the current MotoGP squad of Valentino Rossi, Colin Edwards, Sylvain Guintoli and Makoto Tamada and AMA team riders such as Jason DiSalvo, Ben Bostrom and Eric Bostrom.
