During one of the recent Annual Motorcycle Meetings at the Barber Museum, Alabama, in the USA, the famous Kenny Roberts Yamaha TZ700/750 Dirt track bikes were on display. site: barbermuseum.org
Here are two different machines. The second one with the drilled rear disc could be a slightly later one, but who knows can tell me! Yesssss! Jim Crume just informed us that the bike in front is the actual 1975 Kenny Roberts 1975 Race Winner. The bike behind it was made a few years ago. The "King" had a spare frame lying around 9and probably lots of other parts too). Thanks Jim-San for the information!!
Jim Crume did sent as an "extra" these nice period pictures of the man. Above is "King Kenny" winning the Indianapolis event with his Yamaha TZ750 Dirt tracker.
The original "Champion-framed Yamaha TZ750 Dirt track machine. The "Beast"!
Kenny Roberts in full "flight", sliding his immensly powerful Dirt Tracker around the Oval. Signed by the great master himself!
This 1975 bike must have been an awesome sight to see racing around the dirt ovals in America.
In the background is the (also) very famous Yamaha XS650 Dirt tracker which gave the "King" many successes before he campaigned the Yamaha TZ700/750
Look at the huge airfilter cartridges on the four carburetors!
Another very rare Yamaha is this 1964 "Asama" racer. Actually it is a Yamaha YDS2R (YDS2 with the "Clubman" kit), which was available mainly in the USA. This machine however, is not completely original but it is a very respectable "look-alike" period racer
