The famous Daytona 200 Miler in early 1974 was Giacomo Agostini's first ride for Yamaha. And with the Yamaha factory YZR750 he made a show of it!

These colorslides were never published before....! They give a very good idea of the "relaxed" life during racing in the 1970's, very different from today !

With Giacomo Agostini Yamaha won this important race for the third time, after Don Emde in 1971 and Jarno Saarinen in 1972, both on 350 cc twins. After Giacomo Yamaha would win Daytona every year up to 1984 ! That made it 13 years in a row....

The first picture shows a very comfortable team with on the left Lucia, then Giacomo, Mizoguchi-San (Yamaha's racing Chief) and Hideo Kanaya. Rodney Gould is on the back with his (then very popular Champion hat)
